Surf's up

Subject: Surfer racing to beat the wash

Critique: This is a very striking photo that must have been super hard to
capture because cameras usually don't work very well in water...so yeah. The
CVI, the surfer dude, seems to glow, yet look mysterious because only his
silhouette shows. The photo has a long depth of field because the foam
closer to the you is as clear as the clouds in the sky over by the
mountains, even though the lighting is horrible and you can't really make
out what's at the shore. The shutter speed must have been super high to
capture the little drops of water and ripples perfectily frozen in place (at
least 1/1000). There doesn't seem to be any blur at all. There is also a
little hint of leading lines that lead to the CVI (the shoreline and the
peak of the wave). The high contrast in the photo also leads to accentuating
the CVI because of the glow that seems to be around the guy.

Good job- Your links still aren't autolinking. Try hitting "Enter" afte "Link" so the URL is on a different line.

Good critique- A few points to consider:

The image was surely hard to capture, but not because the equipment would get wet. There are waterproof housings. It's the position of the photographer in the wave that makes this incredible.

Also, the "glowing silhouette" is due to backlighting.- There is more light coming from behind the CVI than there is bouncing off of it.

Very nice job on the rest of the critique
