Critique: I really like how this picture shows lighting coming from the other side of the hill/mountain. I also like how the water is frozen. This photographer used a short depth of field. I also like how the mountain has a shadow in the sand. It's just a real calming picture. Simplicity is also somewhat shown in this picture.

Not bad, but you still need to get more specific. For instance, I don't think I agree that this photo has a short depth of field. You must describe what is in focus and out of focus to discuss depth of field. You also didn't discuss the composition.

I highly suggest using true photojournalism photos for this. It gives you more to discuss.

You had a good critique but it wasnt that specific enough. Another thing you did wrong was you didnt write a caption, but that was good when you were talking about the depth of field and the shadow effect in the sand. Over all you did a pretty good job!
