This shot is dramatic because it shows death in both disgusting and one of the worst ways. The CVI is in very good focus with the background very blurry. The shot is in shallow or deep because you can see alot of land even though it is blurry. I think the shot makes an impact on people to react that they need help over there. Over all the shot is really good with a good CVI and blurry background.

The link doesn't go directly to the photo, so you have to describe exactly which photo you are critiquing.
There is lots more that you could have discussed in this photo such as the SHORT depth of field creating a simple CVI, the way the frame is intensly filled, scorched color of the flesh etc.
